Enjoying the Summer

Again, its been a while, we have been so busy enjoying the summer and the warmth, that we have been spending a lot of our free time outside. Already Cole has been to the pool countless times, Havasu (which was a first for the entire family), Hurricane Harbor and the beach. Cole is such a water baby its fantastic. He enjoys being outside and just being "free"... Can you blame him?

Cole recently had a birthday, May 25, and is now a whopping 3 years old! I cannot believe how fast he is growing up. He changes everyday right before my very eyes. At least once I week I look at him in awe and can't believe how big he is and how much he looks like a little man now, no longer a baby or toddler. I love the person he has become, he is the sweetest little boy, and pretty well behaved too might I add. ;-)

Sean and I have been busy planning our wedding, which is sneaking up very quickly, nearly 3 months away. We have a lot to do this coming month in preparation for it, mainly small details, but still important.

This year has been nothing but great for us so far and I am really hoping it continues that way. Sean is on his summer break from school, a well deserved break, and will start back again in the fall. I can't believe how far he has come with his schooling, he is nearly finished and I am so proud of him!

Hope you are all doing just as well as us and enjoying this beautiful summer!

Thought I would take a moment and update the "family blog" while Cole and his buddy watch a movie. Last week I was incredibly sick with a bladder infection that spread to a kidney infection, which caused some horrible back pain, I was given a dose of antibiotics that I needed to take for 10 days, twice a day. I will take my last dose tomorrow. They also gave me some pain meds to help with the back pain, they helped tremendously and I ended up only taking them the first night b/c after that my back pain was gone. The antibiotics, however, were just awful, they made me so nauseous and everytime I ate it felt like it wasn't sitting well. That has seemed to subside though, thankfully.

Our weekend was great, we went to Hollywood on Saturday so Sean could take some photographs for one of his classes at school and then stopped by his Dad's house to visit, we grabbed some food, which has never tasted so good, I was starving, and then went back to his house to relax and catch up some more. Sunday was just another ordinary Sunday, woke up and lounged around the house, went to my moms real quick to feed her animals because she is out of town on business and then I headed off to work myself. It was a late night for me Sunday night [technically early Monday morning], but I managed.

As far as Wedding Plans go, we are getting there, slowly but surely. There are a few phone calls we need to make within the next few weeks and things to get sorted out, but its coming along. Have my dress now, its hanging up in our closet, need to get it altered but will do that closer to the wedding.

Things are going well for our little family, I love them dearly and am so thankful for what I have. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week, and will update again soon, when something exciting happens! ;-)

A New Year

So here we are, 2010, where has the time gone? I know its been months since I have even thought about "Blogging", but I am determined to get back into the swing of it, yes I know it is something I keep saying but this time I mean it.

Where to begin....? The second half of 2009 was full of many different ups and downs. Cole broke his leg near the end of summer and was placed in a half a body cast for a full 8 weeks, what a trial that was to get through. But, he was an absolute trooper, he really is an amazing little boy, what I thought was going to be 8 weeks from hell, trying to keep him content while he was immobile actually went by pretty quickly. He learned to army crawl around the house to play with his toys, we read stories and colored a lot, went on walks and even fed the ducks that are now outside our front door!

We also moved from our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment to a 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom town home near the Valencia Fairways Golf course. We love it here, its the next best thing to being able to own our own house, we will get there one day. Our view out our front window is the golf course, Cole loves to go outside and we take our walks through the nice pathways in our neighborhood and play in all the grassy areas too...As mentioned before we even go and feed the "duckies" every once in a while.

With 2010 here, Sean and I are planning our wedding which is set for October 2, 2010.... Sean is back at school this week, taking classes Mon-Thurs until 10 o'clock at night and I am working 6-7 days a week depending on the week. So we are all busy busy. Cole is doing fantastically, you would never know he broke his leg last year, he is running around like a wild man, talking up a storm and just being his amazing self. I can't get over how much I love him. He makes everyone smile who he meets and everyone just adores him. He is going to be trouble as he gets older, he is already winning over the hearts of women all ages. He truly is a blessing and I love being able to spend so much time with him. I cannot believe that he is going to be three this year! Where does the time go? I feel like I could go on and on about how wonderful Cole is and start listing off all the hysterical things he says, for example, whenever he coughs his pats his chest and says "Scue me!", that has got to be one of the cutest things by far. But if I list everything he says we could be here all day. Guess most importantly to share is that he is a very happy, healthy, strong 2.5 year old boy who is spoiled rotten and loved by many, and that is all that truly matters.

Mother's Day Weekend and More...

Hey everyone, and to all you Mom's I hope you had a WONDERFUL Mother's day.  My Mother's day was good, simple, but nice.  Saturday I took Cole to a Pet Expo at COC where I had read there would be pony rides and a petting zoo etc....It was not quite what I expected but he did, however, get to ride a pony and pet some cute animals.  He LOVED the pony ride, it was his first one.  Then we went and did some errands with my Mom, stopped at Old Navy and got him some very cute dinosaur board shorts that he decided he must have....Stopped in a Marshalls and got him another very cute Calvin Klein outfit and then off to Wal-Mart for some party favors for his birthday party that is coming up very soon.  Sunday we woke up and Sean and Cole gave me cards and some roses and we went to breakfast and then to the market to pick up a few odds and ends.  I had to go babysit at 2 but luckily I got off early....Cole spent the rest of Mother's day with his Grandma and Great Grandma while I was babysitting, since Daddy had a paper he had to write for school.

On Tuesday I took Cole to the pool for the first time this summer.  He hasn't been in about 10 months or so!  I was a little nervous that he would be frightened but boy was I wrong!  He had a blast and thinks he knows how to swim and can just take off, ya...riiiight.  In a sense it is a very good thing that he is not afraid and is willing to jump right in, but if we aren't careful it could be very dangerous.  So I am taking him to the pool everyday now, trying to teach him how to swim, hopefully I go do it, otherwise swimming lessons here we come.

Of course, I took photos of it all, so enjoy!  :-)

What a Week...

Hello Everyone,

So as some of you may have (or may not have) heard Cole experienced a febrile seizure last Wednesday. He is doing fine now, the experience was more scary then anything else. We took him to spend a "Day with Thomas" [the tank engine] on Saturday b/c he had managed to keep his fever off for a full 36 hrs before hand. That was the only way we would take him, both Sean and I agreed. But he LOVED it! He had an absolute blast and I am so glad we were able to take him. He has a Dr.s appointment tomorrow just to make sure his ear infection and bronchitis has cleared up, hopefully it has.

Hope you all are doing well!

Take Care.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!  Sadly Cole woke up sick Saturday morning with a fever and runny nose and cough, but we made the best out of the weekend that we could.  We all went to visit Cole's great Grandma on Saturday and had lunch there, made a stop at Wal-Mart and picked up a birthday present for Cole and then came home and put the little guy to bed.  Sunday morning we all woke up and got showered, gave Cole some medicine to help him through the day and drove to Sean's Dad's and sister's house.  When we got there Auntie Sara had an Easter egg hunt set up for the boys, so the trucked around outside collecting eggs and afterwards getting their Easter baskets and goodies....We went and saw a movie all together, Monsters vs Aliens, it was very cute, and then once again we came straight home and put Cole back to bed.  He has a horrible dry cough which sounds so painful, it does make him cry....today he seems to be feeling a bit better, no fever at least....Still wont eat much.  What a weekend to get sick huh?  Oh well, we still had a good time, and I think Cole did as well...the medicine helped.  I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend!  :-)

The Picture People

I took Cole to the Picture People last night to get his photograph taken, they did an AMAZING job and it was so difficult to chose from the photos the got.  When we first arrived there and I sat him on the couch he started to fuss, so I quickly scooped him up trying to avoid a major meltdown, and after that he was fine.  The gentleman who took Cole's photos was great with him, playing with him, throwing the balls back and forth between each other while snapping pictures in between...Cole had a great time, he must of thought it was a "very strange play date" but none the less had a good time....Here are some of the photos they managed to take....I got the full body one of him on his tummy in a 10x13 and also a few 4x6's of the one with Cole sitting on the wooden stool holding the baseball inbetween his legs....He looks like such a grown up in that photo.  *sniff sniff* my baby is growing up!  Here they are...Enjoy!  :-)
